The Rebel range is ESAB’s heavty-duty top tier option, and they’re as good as welding machines get. The 235 is a powerful and portable 240V single-phase welder available, designed for welding OK Aristorod 12.50 1.0mm 18kg solid wire for medium-length durations (230amps @ 35% duty / 12mm to 12mm maximum). You can weld 1.0mm MIG wire @ 170amps (equivalent of welding 6mm to 6mm) for 6 minutes continuous (4 mins cool down) without the thermal trip coming on.
The beauty of the Rebel 235, is that when on ESAB OK Aristorod 12.50 0.8mm 15kg MIG wire for thinner mild steel (ie. 2mm to 2mm @ 90amps), you still have the guaranteed easy to setup, low amperage stability and control that a lot of 3-phase 415V welders lack. Customers tend to use this welder in fabrication workshops on 0.8mm MIG wire running all day (subject to the job), as they can handle 140amps flat out @ 100% duty.
